Message from the Department Head

Dear Students and Prospective Students,

Graphic design is in multifaceted communication with people, society, and the environment. For this reason, it is crucial to have a versatile educational program that blends knowledge and technology. The Department of Graphic Design at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, which is aware of the meaning and value of art in human and social life, aims to educate future designers through an academic curriculum designed with this purpose in mind.

The primary goal of our department is to train individuals who can adapt to today’s technology; who, as people of the information age, can observe, analyze, and draw accurate conclusions about the world, our country, and the society they live in; and who possess the knowledge and technical skills related to graphic design while being conscious of ethical and aesthetic values. Aware of the challenges of keeping pace with rapidly developing technology and a transforming society—especially in a world moving rapidly toward multiculturalism—our department has developed programs in line with these objectives.

To respond to the demands of the evolving world of information and technology, and to train individuals who are both competent in artistic skills and have promising career prospects, our programs are delivered to you by an expert academic staff. Our department has the necessary physical infrastructure and visual tools to achieve its goals. We maintain a learning environment that supports independent and free thinking—one of the fundamental requirements of art—and emphasizes gaining competencies consistent with the international standards of the profession while respecting individual rights.
