“From Painting to Graphic Art Lautrec

The seminar titled "From Painting to Graphic Art: Lautrec", in which Uludağ University Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülser Aktan participated as a speaker, was held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 11:00 with a high level of participation.

The seminar addressed the contributions of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who transformed the interaction between art and communication in the cultural atmosphere of Paris in the late 19th century, to graphic art. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülser Aktan explained the artist's unique style, simplified forms, typography-painting relationship and the inspiration he received from Japanese printing art, which he developed since his introduction to lithography.

Participants had the opportunity to see that Lautrec's works both shaped the cultural memory of his period and shed light on today's understanding of graphic design. The event offered new perspectives on the intersections between art and visual communication design.
